Career Orientation Day at Weöres Sándor Primary and Elementary Art School in Gyömrő

He emphasized that he still draws from the valuable knowledge and care he received at the Gyömrő institution and will never forget how his years there provided the solid foundation necessary for his high school and university studies.
Looking toward the future, he provided students with a detailed overview of the current vocational training system, highlighting its advantages. He pointed out where the students currently stand on this journey and emphasized that their first major milestone is the entrance exam, which, based on his own experience, is vital for reaching higher education. Furthermore, Zoltán Márton used his own example to illustrate the path leading toward university, stressing that the graduation exam (matura) will be the next decisive milestone.
How to become a security engineer? How to become an engineering teacher?
In his presentation, he spoke extensively about his professions and qualifications while sharing the efforts required to achieve them. Subjects and career paths were discussed, detailing the roles they played in his professional development. Security engineers must gain proficiency in numerous areas, including law enforcement, civil protection, asset protection, weaponry, information security, occupational safety, fire protection, and environmental protection. During training, these areas are of paramount importance for an engineer’s professional readiness. These skills and knowledge are equally essential for becoming an engineering teacher, in addition to pedagogical-psychological studies, subject methodology, practical experience, a thesis, a portfolio presentation, and a complex oral examination.
The camps serve to develop education. One focuses on ecological awareness and sustainable development, where students learn about green energy using Minecraft. The other revolves around security topics, where participants use CAD design and Minecraft basics to create secure homes and learn about advanced security systems.
Both camps support creativity and awareness in sustainability and security. In a summary video of the 2023 camp, the camp leader demonstrated the incredible things 10–14-year-old students can achieve in just 5 days on a deserted island within Minecraft.
Interactive asset protection task with the classes
The speaker detailed the components of security systems, such as sensors (panic alarms, intrusion detectors, fire alarms, special sensors), the intrusion alarm control panel (in a metal box with a panel, power supply, and battery), signaling (reporting events to remote monitoring or the owner), programmable outputs (contacts controlled by sensors or remotely), the keypad (for system control), and the signaling network (providing connection between various devices).
Following this, students solved an asset protection task through 3D house modeling. After presenting 3D and 2D images of the house, students had to place the following devices in the best possible configuration to ensure the highest degree of protection:
- Passive Infrared Motion Sensors (PIR) – 2 units
- Door/Window Contact Sensors – 2 units
- Acoustic Glass Break Detector
- Alarm Control Panel
- Sound and Light Siren
- GSM Module
A stunning presentation by 10-year-old student Kristóf Kovács-Kapocs
Zoltán Márton also held mathematics lessons in the 4.d class of Mrs. Róbertné Ruskó. However, the highlight of the career orientation day was a presentation by a 10-year-old student, Kristóf Kovács-Kapocs. Kristóf delivered a lecture on astronomy that would surely impress university students, presenting the universe, individual planets, and other celestial bodies like Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. He also spoke about black holes, event horizons, accretion disks, escape velocity, and giant stars.
The presentation was an exciting and informative experience for everyone. According to the project coordinator, the student spoke for 45 minutes with incredible passion and professional terminology about the universe, which crowned this wonderful day for him.
