The IMPACT project conference successfully held in Budapest

On September 11, 2025, a successful conference for the IMPACT project took place in Budapest. Obuda University hosted the professional conference for the project, which aims to strengthen the international project management capacities of V4 universities. The event’s goal was to share best practices and develop regional collaborations. Obuda University was represented by Tibor Bial, Chief Advisor for International Affairs, Dr. Gyula Szigeti, Head of the Grants Office, and Zoltán Márton, Head of the STEAM Office. 

Several partner institutions also attended the conference:

Dr. Gyula Szigeti and Tibor Bial from Obuda University jointly presented the university’s innovation ecosystem, the development of science parks, and its international research and industrial collaborations. Zoltán Márton, Director of the Hungarian STEAM Platform, gave a presentation on building the STEAM network in the V4 region and the opportunities for international cooperation. He highlighted the role of talent management, which is supported by several initiatives, including the 2025/26 STEAM Excellence Programme.

The Wroclaw University of Economics and Business presented its Project Management Center, which coordinates over 55 international grants, and its innovation initiatives, including the VR-based Business Simulation Center and the InQUBE incubator.

The University of Pécs highlighted its 650-year-old traditions, the international activities of the Szentágothai Research Centre, and its central grant office, which currently manages over 50 projects.

The EUBA (University of Economics in Bratislava) emphasized its research excellence, international partnerships, and initiatives such as the Behavioral Economics Lab and the Scientific Café for Women.

The Ostrava University detailed its organizational structure of six faculties and two research institutes, highlighting its grant support system and opportunities for international collaboration.

The representative from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Slovakia highlighted the development of research infrastructure, with a particular focus on opportunities for regional and international cooperation.

The event concluded with a shared dinner, which provided an opportunity for networking and strengthening future collaborations.

The event was held within the framework of the project with the code IVF-V4-22510113 – IMPACT (Boosting capacity to manage international projects at V4 Universities).
