Cybersecurity in focus – Obuda University at Safer Internet Day in Gödöllő!

The opening presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Dean of the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, who discussed the psychological effects of digital manipulation and the importance of recognizing deceptive strategies. The event attracted 450 attendees, and Obuda University’s stand achieved outstanding success, contributing to more conscious internet usage through interactive demonstrations and expert information sessions.
The psychology of cyber-deception – manipulation, emotional shock, and instant decisions in the online space
Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Dean of the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, participated as a speaker in the first podium discussion, which examined the psychological impacts of digital manipulation. The presentation introduced influence techniques used in the online space, as well as their consequences on emotions and decision-making. Through practical examples, Professor Rajnai helped participants recognize and avoid deceptive strategies, fostering more conscious and secure internet use.

Visitors could learn about the university's programs and research
The university was present with its own stands, where visitors could learn about the institution’s cybersecurity and safety technology training programs, research projects, and the Obuda University Cyber Academy.
Interactive programs were held at the stand with the participation of university lecturers, researchers, and the presidents and representatives of the Student Unions. Representatives of the Obuda University Student Union (HÖK) also actively participated in the event to inform interested parties about university life opportunities and the role of the student community:

The STEAM Office – Hungarian STEAM Platform also prepared a special program: They presented their Summer Children’s University camp titled “Defense Security and Property Protection in the World of Minecraft,” demonstrating how security challenges can be modeled and simulated within the game world. This was particularly successful among the younger participants.
